These light pendants are the result of my desire to use every part of the tree I possibly can and still produce a hand made, functional, and artistic product. The translucent rings of wood that are the building blocks of the pendant are thick hand plane shavings from pieces of firewood which I shave and mold by hand. The pendant gives off a warm light that is not achievable in any other lighting material. The pendant assemblies are very light and sturdy.

The photos below are a collection of 10 floor standing lamps with all-wood lamp shades. Each lamp stand and shade are unique.  The inspiration for this collection came from my desire to build something useful from materials that would otherwise ended up in the fireplace.  The risers or columns for each lamp are steam bent branches from Oak and Cherry trees taken down on my neighbors property to make room for a Pecan tree orchard.  The bases for each lamp came from a thick slab of wood that had a ton of defects and which I deemed unusable for fine furniture casework.  Enjoy!
